Ahh. It has been so long...
Missed yesterday's class gathering because I was back in camp for live firing. Everyone was rushing to finish the firing because they told us that the earlier we completed it, the earlier we could book out. But something they never told us is that 90% of the things people say in army are lies or tricks.
Ahha! I have already knew it ever since I got innocently deceived by the corporal to be posted to my camp. But i still had some hope when the plan was to bookout in the afternoon, so that I could maybe rush to the class dinner...
The toot officer kept repeating "everyone quickly finish everything, then we can quickly go watch Iron Man!". He had been talking about it since the day before... And my section mate who watched it said it was quite nice. So unknowingly, everyone including me suddenly wanted to watch Iron Man.
So the firing had many cock-ups, and we returned at 1530 as opposed to the originally planned 1300 or so. I opened my cupboard, checked my handphone.

'Hey hey you watched ironman liao? Want to watch this afternoon? Meet at 3.15 at cine. Class having dinner at 6 at cine too.' - rifeng
Urgh. I am in camp and my class is happily watching Iron Man now?!
Booked out at 7pm in the end. Went home exhausted and sad because I still haven't watch Iron Man.
Anyway, I went for an interview at NTU on friday. It was for the double degree course i applied. Din know I would actually get selected... I was quite happy when I knew I got an interview because it was my first. -_- I finally felt loved because someone is actually, finally, omg really?! considering me.
So I went for the interview. NTU is quite a nice place. Went there before for my brother's graduation. The engineering buildings are all new, and they are located on a hill which has quite a scenic view. Somehow I've a better impression of NTU as compared to the other unis. Maybe because it feels the most 'cheena' of all -_- (not because of the overwhelming number of PRCs). I just have a general perception that people there are more reserved, humble, warm and Singaporish. :)
Anyway everyone just thinks NTU is lousy because its world ranking is low and its not in any way cooler than schools at orchard road. -_-
So I reached the very nice building with School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering on it and couldn't find the place and was late for 10minutes. Haha. There were surprisingly few people getting interviewed, around 6. And all of them were dressed like they were going to receive their PSC scholarship while I looked like I was ready to go have fun. Plus they all have this 'I got straight-As and im very smart' look.
Nevermind. The interviewers were 2 professors from the 2 course. They were friendly and it was more like a chit chat. I think the aerospace prof was not impressed by me at all, while the econs prof bombarded me with theories on the US dollar which I have totally forgotten. He encouraged me to study econs though if all else fails lol. Seemed like he was desperate to get students into the econs course.
And I was all prepared to answer why I got a C for econs by telling them that a single exam cannot determine my interest in it and all this crap in case they asked. Turned out, it was the econs prof himself that told me not to worry about the C because the economics faculty need students that are good in Maths and Physics. Hahaha so cute.
Btw, I thought I didn't do quite well for the interview, so im guessing my chance is quite low. bleah I am just hoping they offer me aerospace at least. please please please.
Anyway, im actually at home on a Sunday night because my camp is having a battalion outing tml at Sentosa so I just have to go there straight tml in the early morning. :) Im hoping we are not booking in right after that.
And army life has been monotonous past few weeks. There have been a lot of free time, which I spent reading books, listening to my ipod or sleeping. And I didn't say that its like prison for nothing.
(Im not sure if I can post it up, but im guessing I can since it can be seen on Google Earth and im not leaking any secrets :x) Look at the 4 squarish buildings. I stay in one of them. Instead of having buildings which are more open and bright, we have these. And the hardcourt in the center is where we fall in, and where I waited on my first day of posting, overwhelmed by everyone all around. Bleah forget it, enough of the past.
Btw, I got my silver for IPPT! Haha... still a long way to go for gold though, and considering that we are not doing PT regularly these days im wondering when I can achieve it. And im gonna POP on 17th May as well, just like the SISPEC people. The only slight minute difference is that they will be CPL with higher pay and proceed to get their sergeant rank, while I will be getting a beret which wont add a cent to my pay and moreover, my weeks of slacking in bunk and sleeping in the afternoon will officially end and I will be ready for outfields, and stuffs like outfields and most importantly, outfields.
Urgh, I am sad.
Nvm, nvm. Life is great if you think it is.
Life is great!! I think.
Blog again soon. :)
