You passed away while I was away. You probably waited till Sunday, thinking I would be home. I am still wondering why you left so fast. I thought your life span was longer? Did your friend bite you? I am sorry that I ignored the squeaks at night. I should have separated you after the injury.
I remember bringing you two home. You were the active one, running around in the plastic container while your friend stood motionless. You were the fatter one. While your friend was curious about the new running wheel, you ate till your cheeks were full.
You were the friendly one. I would stroke your fur on your head and back while you were eating and you wouldn't mind. You probably were just more concerned about finishing your food. You were the gentle one. Your friend would always snatch food away from your hands (See above photo). No wonder you always ran to a corner and ate your food fast.
I was so worried when you were injured, but was relieved when you recovered. How would I know you would be gone in less than a month time. Sorry for the time I neglected you. Now you leave your friend alone in the tank which now appears empty. She would be sleeping alone now, and will have the wheel to herself now. Maybe she is happier this way, but I am sure she will miss your company sooner or later.
I didn't know how much I missed you until I look at your photos and go to the tank and realised that you aren't there anymore. I was surprised why I wasn't sad when I got the news, but it was until night time that I felt overwhelmed by grief.
Thank you for accompanying me for the past 21 months. I will remember your big butt and funny antics. Hope you rest in peace over the rainbow bridge.
